What does the AKC standard say about chocolate Labs?

Short answer

Chocolate is an allowed AKC color ranging from light to dark brown. Eyes should be brown or hazel. Height, weight and structure rules are the same for all three colors, so chocolate is a coat color within the breed, not a separate Labrador variety.
