When to switch a Labrador from puppy to adult food?

By · Updated

Short answer

Most large-breed Labs switch around 12–18 months, once growth has clearly slowed. Change food gradually over 7–10 days. Keep them lean through the switch, because excess weight during growth is linked to hip and elbow problems, and ask your vet if you are unsure.
