How to use it
If you know the parents' DNA results, select them directly. If you only know their colors: a chocolate is always bb and either EE or Ee; a yellow is always ee; a black is E_ B_. If a black parent has ever produced a chocolate puppy, it must be Bb.
The genetics, briefly
The E locus (MC1R) decides whether dark pigment appears in the coat. ee dogs are yellow. The B locus (TYRP1) decides whether that pigment is black (B) or brown (b). The two genes are inherited independently, so the calculator multiplies the probabilities. Full explanation and pairing table.
Doesn't model the dilute (D) locus or rare variants. Results are probabilities per puppy, not litter guarantees.
